Another frightening thing about the whole debate of bringing ID concepts into the science curriculum, is the momentum that it has in the political sphere. It is one thing to dicuss these issues in the, sort of, benign
cricles of blogging and in newspaper columns, etc. but it is more troubling and more harmful to see it being mobilized as a hot-button, politicized issue. we need to do what we can to protect the learning students' concept of what sorts of theories/issues are addressed by the process of science and what theories/issues are addressed by other means of getting at truth.
Claims in science have rigor, replicability, and are testable by some sort of trial.
